New on DVD 9/30/08

Today one of the best movies that has come out this year is now available on DVD. When Iron Man was first intorduced as a possible film, I had zero expectations for it to be any good. As a comic fan, I could not imagine how a character with his kind of story or appeal could capture the attention of a mainstream movie audience. Of course, I was proven wrong and not only did Iron Man prove to be among the best comic inspired movies but a great movie alltogether. If you havent seen it, I highly recommend that you go pick this up. Also slotted for release today is the Judd Apatow movie Forgetting Sarah Marshall, which I hav yet to see. A classic teen movie Cant Hardly Wait which helped put Seth Green on the map is being released in a 10 year anniversary special edition DVD and the horrible stink that was Beauty and The Beast the live action complete series. If you want to keep track of what's new in DVDs every tuesday you can always check out here for my two cents on what I think is worth watching or you can check out http://www.comingsoon.net/dvd/ for complete lists.

Chievo Verona lost today

I pull for quite a few soccer teams in different leagues throughout Europe. The team I pull for in Italy's Serie A League is Chievo Verona. Mainly because their mascot name. Now most teams have names like Titans, Warriors or some kind of animal like the Colts or Bengals even. Cheivo got their name from their rival cross town team. The team, Hellas Verona claimed the Chievo stole thier colors, fans and stadium even. Hellas fans began to say that Donkeys would fly before Chievo made it up to the top league. When that moment finally came, Chievo adopted the once derogatory name and now claim it as their own as well. So there you have it , the Chievo Verona Flying Donkeys. Dont believe me, look it up at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chievo_Verona . They happened to lose today to Catatonia 1-0.

Titans Win!!

Woot! Titans win today 30-17, improving to 4-0 for the season! Now to get ready for Baltimore next week.

Warsong Gulch

For all you World of Warcraft players out there, I know what youre thinking when you read the title to this post. Ive been running this battleground the last few days and I have to say I absolutely hate it, even when my side wins. Battles take way too long for barely enough honor points. If I didnt need the medals you get from participating, I would gladly try to forget this battleground exists.

Pic of the week

Babe of the week 9/28 - 10/4/08

Emmanuelle Chriqui

Ill try to keep changing these and the pic of the week but im not making any promises.

Saturday in the world of sports!

Not a very good day for me sports wise. Tennessee of course lost but at least made a game of it. We probably could have won if we can somehow learn not to give them the ball all the freaking time. Auburn ended up beating us 14 - 12, giving us a record of 1 win and 3 losses. With Georgia coming up next week probably mad as heck at losing to Alabama today, I don't see any UT victories anytime soon. Now, another one of my favorite sports is Soccer. Football to the rest of the world. The team I pull for the most is Arsenal in England's Premiership league. They lost today as well to Hull City in what the media is calling one of the greatest upsets in the world of soccer. Another England team I pull for is Blackpool in England's Championship league, which is the league below the Premiership. They tied today against Coventry City, which is better than losing but a win would have been nice. The one victory I can celebrate today is the win over Aberdeen by my team Celtic in the Scottish Premier League. Hopefully tomorrow can yield better results as my Tennessee Titans try to improve to 4 and 0 against Minnesota and my Italian soccer team, Chievo Verona takes on Catania. Keep your fingers crossed!

Weekend Sports

This weekend has got me worried. Anyone who knows me can tell you that I am a die hard University of Tennessee fan. I mean my blood runs Orange! This year, so far has not reached the expectations I had hoped for. We are as of this posting, 1 and 2, with loss number 3 looking to happen today against a tough Auburn team. Most of me wants to crush those Auburn bastards and revel in our (according to the media) surprise victory. I have to confess though, part of me wants us to lose. Its no secret that Coach Fulmer is not a fan favorite. I have to include myself along in that as well. If losing does help get the change that is very apparently needed in Knoxville, then it doenst hurt as much to lose. Hopefully it will be a good game and we will, win or lose, make a good game of it.

Daily Thought

Hey! Gettin ready to turn in here in a bit. I just finished playing World of Warcraft for the day. Here lately I have being running a lot of the PVP battlegrounds. Image above is from Alterac Valley. Thats me on the white cat in the middle there. I had been actually coming down from my WoW induced high over the last month or so. I hit level 70 with my main and was kinda lost on what to do next. I decided to try and get the money needed for my epic flyer, a whopping 5000 gold, but just got tired of slowly gaining gold. So, I tried out the battlegrounds and Im now re-addicted. HA! Only thing are these whiny assholes who start moaning and complaining about how our side is losing or how everybody else sucks. Get over it already, its a freakin game! Its not like youll never have the chance to try again. Its not like you cant play again in about 30 minutes tops. Always everybody else and never themselves.

Welcome!

I seriously dont know how well this is going to work. I have zero "real blogging" experience. I used to do movie reviews on my Myspace blog but that all went to the crapper after my life invading addiction to World of Warcraft began. I will mainly use this space to rant about the daily crap that to most of you would seem silly, but from my perspective, soul shattering that I deal with. I will also renew my movie reviews and maybe even try to throw my two cents about the latest news into the ever growing whirlwind of useless diatribe that is the Internet. If this takes off and I feel like it, I may even start posting original fiction and poetic works as a way of practice for my ever expanding desire to become a writer. Until then, lets see how I feel tomorrow and go from there. Good night!
