Another Heath List
Woot! Actually got some feedback on my last list. I hope that continues with this one. A note for some of you people out there, comment on here dont tell me yourself how wrong I was when you see me. Thats what this is here for! Keeping with how last week went this last will also have something to do with the movie I saw over the weekend.
The Best movies that feature actors from That 70's Show!
1) Half Baked, featuring Tommy Chong, who played Leo
2) The Butterfly Effect, starring Ashton Kutcher who played Kelso
3) Dude, Where's my Car, also starring Ashton Kutcher
4) Spiderman 3, starring Topher Grace who played Eric
5) Sgt Bilko, featuring Debra Jo Rupp who played Mrs Foreman
And before you say it, I havent seen all the Cheech and Chong films so I cant really put all of them up here. Besides wouldnt really be much of a list if they were all Cheech and Chong.

Now going 0 for 2
Second week in a row and I see yet another lackluster film. At least this time I went in with little or no expectations for this movie to be anything extraordinary. Based on the video game of the same name, Max Payne besides being the name of the film is also the name of the main character played by Mark Wahlberg. A once happy detective now spends his time in the Cold Case Files dept of the police force endlessly trying to find the guy that killed his wife and kid. The game is famous for intense action, slow motion effects and a film noirish atmosphere. The movie however, features intense action, slow motion effects and norse mythology mixed with drug trafficking, wooden action and predictability. Joining Mark Wahlberg in this high action thrill ride are That 70's Show actress Mila Kunis and in his first major film appearance in probably 15 years (or so, I have no idea??) Beau Bridges. I myself have never played the game so I cant tell you how far off the movie story is compared to that, but I can tell you the story for the film is ridiculous. It is very easy to predict and the characters have an uncanny ability to show up at places for no reason other than to further along the plot. All in all, If you want a movie that makes you think, pass this by. If you want to see some pretty good gunfights and stuff blowing up and evil looking angels flying around with the skies on fire, then buckle up kiddo, youre going on a ride. Not a great film, just another future DVD for the 5.99 bin at wal-mart. Max Payne scores on the Heath-scale a score of 5 out of 10.

World of Zombies??
With the new expansion for World of Warcraft coming just around the corner, Blizzard (the makers of the game) have been putting out all the stops with new additons to the game preparing for the eventual release. They began a week ago with the new patch that added new areas and characters among other things. Well, now there is a zombie outbreak! Yes, you read that right, a ZOMBIE outbreak! How freakin awesome is that. Let me explain, the expansion pack features The Lich King, a very powerful almost god like being in the World of Warcraft and with him, his army of undead as he makes war against everyone. One of his preemptive strikes is to start an outbreak of zombies to keep his foes distracted. You can get "zombiefied" either from the original crates that carried the plague itself at the harbor in Booty Bay in Stranglethorn Vale or just get the rotten luck of getting attacked by an infected player. As a zombie, you will have new zombie specific attacks and you can infect other players and the computer controlled people as well. Needless to say, a plague of the undead is spreading throughout the game. Things like this is what makes World of Warcraft so much fun to play. Im off to go get zombied up.
Woot! And the Brat is gone!
Finally one of my favorite events of the year happened on Tuesday and that was the ousting of Phil Hellmuth from the World Series of Poker. Nicknamed the Poker Brat, if youre not familiar with him, all he does is talk himself up like hes the best player ever and whines continuously when he loses. He is especially aggravating when hes beaten by what he calls bad poker, going as far as calling other players idiots and walking away from the table. He made a pretty good run this year in the World Series, making into the final 70 or so. Now even though I watch every year, my enthusiasm died after my favorite player Daniel Negreanu was eliminated. All I had to look forward to was Mr. Hellmuth's eventual elimination. Now with that out of the way, it doesnt matter to me who wins.

New Feature: The Heath List
Ive decided that there needs to be more of my opinions on here so every now and again I will be listing new Heath lists. A Heath list is simply the top five of whatever subject I feel like putting up at the time. If there is anything that you would like me to rank on a Heath list, just let me know. For my inaugural edition, I will be listing my favorite western movies.
Heath's Top 5 Westerns:
1) 3:10 to Yuma
2) Unforgiven
3) Tombstone
4) Blazing Saddles
5) Open Range
Heath's Top 5 Westerns:
1) 3:10 to Yuma
2) Unforgiven
3) Tombstone
4) Blazing Saddles
5) Open Range
One step forward, two steps back...
Woot! First movie Ive went to since starting this blog. Unfortunately it was Appaloosa starring Ed Harris, Viggo Mortensen and the she-beast known as Renee Zelweger. I actually like westerns, I know thier popularity have declined over the last few decades but every now and again a good one shines thru the muck released by Hollywood, such as Unforgiven and last years awesome 3:10 to Yuma. Most of the time though, we are subjected to atrocities as The Quick and the Dead and now Appaloosa. Directed by the also starring Ed Harris, Appaloosa tells the story of two peace keepers hired by a town to clear up some bad people who are running rough shod over the town. While dealing with these fellas led by Jeremy Irons, they also deal with the arrival of a woman they both have an eye for even though the woman is played by Renee Zelweger, which does point out one good thing about this film and thats the incredible acting by both Ed Harris and Viggo Mortensen. This is also what brings about the failing of this film. Once Ms. Zelweger's character is introduced, the film loses track and cant quite figure out if wants to be an actual western or a romance. Seems to be a mish mash of dissapointing action scenes that have very little action and probably the worst gunfight in the history of the western genre with no tension between what is somehow supposed to be a love triangle Im guessing. A whole lot of nonsense and incredibly stupid leaps in logic by many characters and one annoying scenario that keeps repeating itself with nothing being done about it all lead to the complete failure this film becomes. If you like westerns go rent 3:10 to Yuma again and bypass Appaloosa all together. I give Appaloosa, on the Heath-scale a score of 3 out of 10.

The King is back baby!
One of the new features of the new patch for World of Warcraft is the return ok the King of Stormwind. Before this patch, he was missing and was featured in the comic book series as he made his way back to his homeland. Now hes back in charge and pissed at the Horde. Here he is with his kid in Stormwind acting very nonchalant while I show off my obvious might.

Everything changes, everything stays the same.
Work was extremely frustrating today for a variety of reasons. Between meetings, corporate people who come and "visit" our plant every month working in my way in my area, and just a general lack of sleep, I just couldnt wait to get home. A new patch for World of Warcraft was available to download today to prepare for the eventual release of the new expansion pack, Wrath of the Lich King. Same massive changes awaited us players includeing new features, new graphics, new areas, changed and relocated areas, and even new characters. I dont know how it is for other people, but for me something that Im used to, comfortable with that changes suddenly really messes me up for a lil bit. It kind of feels like everything I know is gone and everything is starting over again. Kind of strange I know. To add to the odd feeling of new experience, my local cable service (freakin Charter) decides to change their channel line up. Very subtle changes that just make me feel that everything I knew was wrong. I know that give me a day or so and everything will be fine, just those few hours of ill bearing and all will return to normalcy. Everything changes, everything stays the same.

Sports this weekend
Well, the Titans are on bye this week, so tomorrow, it will be the Colts on local TV. (Yay, *barf*) The Vols played today against Georgia and surprised no one by losing, but they did make it an interesting game from what I seen of it. Hockey is now going strong and the Predators won today over Dallas 3 -2. As far as soccer goes, All the leagues are on break this week for International play I beleive, Im not entirely for sure but I do know that there are no league games scheduled for this weekend.
And I thought i was addicted..
You have to see this article. This guy has 36 seperate World of Warcraft accounts. 36! and at $15 a month, that adds up to a big chunk of change. He goes on to say that he plans on buying the nesxt expansion pack for all 36 accounts at approximately 15oo dollars. If it wasnt bad enough that he has that many, he plays them all at once, strung out on 11 different computers and he goes on raids all by himself! And to beat all, most of his characters are shamans, and anyone who plays knows what kind of damage 4 to 5 shamans can do with their spells linked, imagine about 30 all timed together, insane! http://www.ripten.com/2008/10/10/wow-whore-has-36-accounts-raids-by-himself/. Here's the website where the story is. It goes into more depth and also shows pics of his characters and his computer set-up.

I hate Turtles!
Been a while since I ranted on here. First let me explain, when I mean by turtles are not the incredibly ugly reptile creatures that hide its body in a shell like a fat guy hiding in a porta potty. What Im talking about it is a form of strategy used in the World of Warcraft battleground of Alterac Valley. The usual Battleground or BG for short has 40 on 40 player battle with each side having the choice of meeting objectives or going for the win. Each side has 2 leaders and 4 towers they can defend. The normal game has both sides capturing towers and destroying them, helping their side by gaining more honor points (which can be used by players to get powerful weapons and armor) and making it easier for their side to kill the main boss. A "turtle" occurs when one or sometimes both sides decide instead of trying to capture towers and kill bosses to just form up and win by killing each other until one side has no more lives. With both sides starting 600, it can take a while, although by capturing towers and killing the mini-boss you can drastically lower the opposing sides lives and achieve straight out victory by killing the main boss. Last night, in my quest to gain more honor points so I can get some armor my character desperately needs, I ended up fighting not one, not two, but 3 freakin turtles! One of which lasted almost an hour! I could have of course left the match early only to have to wait patiently for 15 minutes before I can participate in another BG match. And if you know me, you know patience is not a virtue I have in abundance. Needless to say, I still havent enough honor yet to get what I want so I will have to try again tomorrow night. Wish me luck! If you would like some more information on turtles, please visit http://www.wowwiki.com/Turtle_(PvP).

Every now and again, I come across some pretty cool websites. This particular one I heard about from my friend Matt. It was until recently an application you could add to your facebook page but due the "new" facebook layout had to discontinue. Its www.garfieldminusgarfield.net. THe very simple and hilarious idea of taking Garfield out of his namesake comic strip. The site updates everyday with a new strip. Check it out!

Wha.. NHL started this weekend?!
Why wasnt I told? OMG! I had no idea that the NHL started the regular season on saturday. I must have been too preoccupied over Tennessee's upset win over Northern Illinois to notice. One thing I dont get is why did the opening games take place over seas? I know hockey is not as famous over here as say baseball (which in my opinion s being shoved down our throats, no offense but Im ready for it to end) or football but having the opening game take place in Sweden is not helping the cause. Nashville of course decided to open the season with a 0-2 loss to Carolina. Hopefully its not a sign of things to come. If the freakin gas prices go down, I might try to go to a game this year. I got to go to a Nashville game last year and let me tell you, it was the most fun I have ever had at a live sporting event. Watching a NHL game live instead of on TV is like having steak instead of McDonalds, simply better. If you ever get a chance to go, please do it. If youre any kind of sports fan, you will like it.

Kimbo goes down! Scroll down to see the not so shocking fight from last nights Fight between Kimbo and the replacement for Ken Shamrock and probably the worst 14 seconds in Kimbo's life.
Titans 5 - 0!
Rubens Tube
Let me explain what these are. If you havent noticed yet, Ive changed the featured video found lower on this page to one entitled Rubens Tube still alive. A rubens Tube is a straight tube with holes perforated across the top. Both ends are sealed with one end hooked into a speaker and the other to a valve connected to flammable gas. When the gas is turned on, it gets pushed into the tube and out the holes across the top. When the speaker is turned on it sends sound waves into the tube which pushes the gas out of the holes in perfect waves. SO when a note is hit, the sound wave for that note is seen with the lit flammable gas being pushed thru the openings across the top of the tube. Visual sound waves represented with fire, how cool is that?

OMG The Vols win!
It wasnt pretty but the Vols were able to pull out the win in what I'm considering an upset over Northern Illinois with a final score of 13 - 9. Although it does keep the nails from lowering further on the coffin that carries Coach Fulmer's tenure at UT. I hate to see us lose but if it gets rid of Fulmer than I can stomach it.

Happy Birthday Jeff!
Just want to throw out a Happy Birthday to one of my best friends and definitely my longest friend. Not many people could put up with my certifiable insanity and not go crazy themselves. Happy Birthday buddy!

I was on the Gamefaqs.com message boards the other day and came across a topic on the World of Warcraft board that was very interesting. The topic was about custom made motivational posters that were based on World of Warcraft. The topic also listed a site where you can make your own. http://bighugelabs.com/flickr/motivator.php. Its very easy to do and I have already made a couple of WoW inspired ones. Check it out and have fun!
